Join Barbara H. Callihan, sanctioned IMTCA coach and trainer, for this one-day intensive coaching session designed help riders and horses experience breakthroughs in mastering Extreme Mountain Trail. This clinic will end with a fun mock challenge to see how your skills add up to points in competition.
Open to all rider and equine pairs who have successfully completed the Introduction to Mountain Trail curriculum. Barbara will work with you and your equine partner to set personalized goals, to reinforce your Basic Horsemanship Skills, and help you experience breakthroughs in mastering the discipline. Riders will have the opportunity to work each and every obstacle on the Trail Park, in-hand and under-saddle. A great way to continue to build a bold, confident and safe partnership with your horse, and prepare for the HHB Mountain Trail Play Day Schooling Challenge.
Prerequisites: Must have completed the Introduction to Mountain Trail curriculum via a public clinic, semi-private clinic, or private/semi-private lessons.
Extreme Mountain Trail is designed to develop the perfect Mountain Trail horse. Perfection is epitomized by a horse that is bold, confident and moves forward in a natural gait that is safe and also covers ground as if it were on a long day’s trail ride. The horse and rider should be able to willingly assess and enthusiastically navigate new obstacles with finesse and in a safe manner. The sport of Mountain Trail is especially exhilarating because it challenges horse and rider to navigate trail obstacles with technical accuracy, subtlety, and speed.

****EQUINE EXCELLENCE. SAFETY FIRST.****
Equestrian sports and activities are considered one of the top three extreme, dangerous sports. Mountain Trail / Extreme Mountain Trail is a challenging discipline that requires your ability to understand and demonstrate Basic Horsemanship Skills (Skills). These Skills provide you the fundamentals required to build a bold, confident, and safe partnership with your horse, and empower you to succeed in any discipline. The Skills are not complicated and with coaching and instruction, anyone can learn these Skills and begin to apply them in a short amount of time — even the most novice rider/handler.
