Clark County Horse Tests Positive For EHV-1

Clark County – The Nevada Department of Agriculture has confirmed that a horse in Clark County has tested positive for EHV-1 Non-neuropathogenic strain. This most recent case is a 10-year-old gelding that was present at the National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) Stallion Stakes in Las Vegas. This is the second Nevada horse to test positive after being at the event.

The gelding was vaccinated and is not showing neurologic signs. He is recovering with treatment. The entire Clark County facility has been placed under quarantine by the Nevada Department of Agriculture. There are an estimated 80 horses at the premise.
